ONIKAGE started with one pair of sneakers—something I made for myself, because I couldn’t find anything that felt like me.
I’ve loved anime since I was a kid. When I moved to Japan to study, I thought I’d finally find sneakers that captured that same energy—the emotion, the storytelling, the soul.
But nothing really spoke to me.
So I started sketching. Just for fun at first. Then I painted a pair.
Then another.
And that’s when I realized: I wasn’t the only one looking for this.
That’s how ONIKAGE was born.

OUR STORY
ONIKAGE started in a small town in China — one of those places where everyone knows everyone, and no one talks about sneakers.
I left when I was 18 to study animation in Japan.
What I brought with me wasn’t just a dream, but years of drawing, watching, imagining.
At first, I started painting shoes just for myself. I wasn’t trying to make merch, or go viral.
I just wanted something I couldn’t find in stores—something that felt like me.
A lot of the early designs were inspired by anime.
Not the characters themselves, but the feelings behind them—their colors, their stories, their fire.
That’s how ONIKAGE began.
One pair at a time. One message at a time.
Now, I don’t see ONIKAGE as just an “anime brand.”
I make what moves me—what I think the world is missing.
Maybe it’s a moment, a memory, or just a color I can’t get out of my head.
If it feels true, I’ll build it.
Today, ONIKAGE is still a small business.
We don’t mass produce. We don’t chase trends.
Every pair is printed to order, and built with meaning.
We’re not perfect. We’re still learning.
But the fact that people from all over the world wear what we create—that means everything.
Thank you for being part of this.
